Therapy

At The Place Within care takes more than one shape. You may be coming on your own or alongside someone you love, and whichever way you arrive, the heart of it stays the same: thoughtful, attuned care, grounded in respect for wherever you are on your path.

Our therapists sit with people across the whole range of being human — from the stress and overwhelm of a life that's asking too much of you, to the slow, tender work of moving through grief and trauma. Some come looking for clarity, whilst others seek healing. And there are those of us that simply need a place to be met, to set it all down for an hour and be witnessed. Wherever you find yourself, you're welcome here.

Below are the different ways we work. Take your time with them — there's no wrong door.

  • Individuals

For those seeking space to deepen self-understanding, work through challenges, and reconnect with their values and vitality.

  • Couples + Relationships

For relationships seeking support in how to navigate patterns of stuckness, strengthen connection, and build more honest and fulfilling ways of relating with each other.

“Courage is what love looks like when tested by the simple everyday necessities of being alive.”

— Pádraig Ó Tuama

The Place Within operates on the land of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera and Turrbal Peoples. We acknowledge these peoples as the traditional custodians of this land. We pay respect to Elders past and present and extend that respect to all First Nations Peoples. We are committed to honouring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples’ wisdom, culture, dreaming and ongoing connection to Country. Sovereignty was never ceded.

We also recognise the strength and diversity of all marginalised communities, including LGBTQIA+ people, and are committed to fostering an inclusive, affirming space for all.
